A Simple Dynamic Exercise for Busy People
Watch an elephant in the zoo sometime.
He does not stand stiff and frozen.
He gently sways.
Back and forth.
Side to side.
A slow relaxed semicircle movement.
Why?
Because movement is life.
The elephant is naturally lubricating his joints, shifting pressure, relaxing tension, and keeping his body alive through gentle motion.
Human beings were designed the same way.
Many people today sit too long at desks, in police cars, airplanes, tractors, office chairs, and living room furniture. The body stiffens. The neck tightens. The shoulders harden. The hips become rigid. Balance slowly disappears.
Then people wonder why they feel old.
The Elephant Swing is one of the simplest dynamic exercises a person can do.
Stand relaxed with your feet planted firmly on the floor.
Do not march.
Do not strain.
Do not bounce.
Simply let the body gently sway in a relaxed semicircle motion.
Allow the shoulders, hips, knees, ankles, and spine to loosen naturally.
Keep the jaw relaxed.
Breathe normally.
Stay calm.
Even one or two minutes helps.
This is not a harsh workout.
This is body maintenance.
A middle-aged police officer, truck driver, office worker, school teacher, or tired parent can do this at home in complete privacy.
Older people can do it.
Young people can do it.
Almost anyone can do it.
The body loves movement.
Gentle daily movement may help:
reduce stiffness
improve balance
relax tight muscles
encourage circulation
reduce stress and fatigue
help maintain posture and joint comfort
An elephant understands something modern people often forget:
A steady body likes steady movement.
Stand steady, mates.
Nothing rattles a steady man.
