A wise man is stoic.
He does not let anger parade as wisdom.

Just because you feel angry does not mean you are right.
Anger is not evidence.
Heat is not light.

Many people become angry over things that are false, exaggerated, misunderstood, or only partly true.

The fool says, “I feel it strongly, therefore it must be true.”

The wise man pauses and asks:

  • Is it true?
  • Is it fully true?
  • What facts am I missing?
  • Am I being played by emotion?

A steady man does not hand the steering wheel to anger.

He thinks first.
He verifies.
He responds with discipline.

Anger often makes noise.
Truth usually speaks quietly.

Stand steady, mates.
Nothing rattles a steady man.
