Just because my stomach is empty does not mean that I’m hungry.

Am I hungry?

Just because my stomach is empty does not mean that I’m hungry.

I shouldn’t eat just because my stomach seems to be empty–give it a rest.

Digestion Phase one

Within a couple of hours after eating my food has passed through my stomach and the 20 feet of my small intestine. I will now have an empty stomach and may I think I should eat more food.

Digestion phase two

My stomach will now be empty

The remaining food will have passed into my large intestine (which may be referred to as the ‘poop gut’)  where it will languish for perhaps a day or two as it ferments and certain needed vitamins like B12 are manufactured.

Digestion Phase three

After the trillions of bacteria have consumed their desired amount the rest will pass out as excrement. Modern medical science is still trying to understand this process.
