Monkey Court
Monkey Court talks about feelings of revenge and vendetta. It gives a word of caution against such behavior. This remains true even in the face of persecution.
Monkey Court
When you think someone has wronged you
And you feel vindictive
Stop in your tracks
And take a deep breath
When you would be
The judge, jury and prosecutor
You must be careful
Not to heap wrong upon wrong
There are no checks and balances
The suspect is guilty by default
And has no trial by other court
Behind this murky veil of hurt
No one to question motive
No one to ask
Is this a self-inflicted hurt?
Only in your mind
A trace of lynching haunts the place
In this monkey trial of shame
Signed, sealed and convicted
The alleged one must be
The wronged is the hangman too
