During sleep, the brain undergoes a process known as glymphatic system activation, which helps to remove waste as it detoxifies the brain.

I like to use some coconut oil on my hands as I gently massaging my skull/cranium area. This should only take a few minutes and makes my head feel much better. I try to understand when I have a problem by paying attention to how my skull feels when I first wake up. If I my skull feels congested or like some sort of a mild headache I think I need to go back to bed and get a few more hours of sleep.
